It's not the race I thought you were goin...Wow. It's not the race I thought you were going to run, that is for sure. After only my 1st race, I know what you're talking about - everyone going out fast. I was the last in my group to run the 80 meters to the front door leading to the steps... and they did a mad scramble up. I had passed all in my group and most of the next group by the top though as everyone seemed to die about floor 20 of 60.<br /><br />To me, the 7 mile solid run the day before your race didn't help. Was it part of the problem? You're so fit that maybe it didn't seem like a big deal. From the tone of your post here - your emotions about the race were high - and maybe that had the bigger effect. You were nervous about first time at ESBRU and the level of competition and the goals you had set for yourself. Next year you'll be much more ready and you can pace yourself better. Seems that everyone is trying to go at Dold's pace for the first couple dozen floors. Probably destroys everyone's race but his.<br /><br />I'm looking forward to seeing your finish next year.
